1. Stay healthy

Trevor Ariza should be a steadying presence on both ends of the floor for the young Suns. The only real way that he won’t be is if he gets injured.

Over each of the past four seasons in Houston, Ariza has steadily played in fewer games due to injury. Even when he was active, his minutes per game have also similarly declined over time. He’s past his prime, and his body won’t be able to hold up forever.

Still, he’s been relatively injury-free lately. Although he only played 67 games last year, he played in at least 80 games the three seasons prior. There’s no real reason to think that he should get injured.

All the same, he should make sure to do everything in his power to prevent any major injury from happening. At this age, a big injury could end his career, and a minor one would be a real blow to the Suns. He’s getting older, and if he wants another payday, he’ll have to continue staying healthy.
