Sixth Man of the Year: Eric Gordon

Since arriving in Houston during the summer of 2016, it seems Eric Gordon has really found his niche as a sharpshooting, ball-handling sixth man for the Rockets.

Extremely quick with the ball in his hands and a career 43.0 percent outside shooter, Gordon is the perfect fit in D’Antoni’s 3-point heavy offensive system, even setting what was then a record for the most 3s hit by a bench player with 206 just a couple years ago.

Arguably the most simplistic of the awards in its prerequisite, Gordon should have a pretty decent shot at the league’s best sixth man this upcoming season despite having won the award back in 2017.

Playing with both CP3 and Harden has only elevated his level of play, while the injuries that crippled him year after year appear to be a thing of the past.

We know Gordon is going to get his share of looks on the offensive end, and if he can simply replicate his production over the last two seasons, he’ll put himself in a great position to become a two-time winner of the Sixth Man trophy.
