As one of the most talented teams in the league, the Houston Rockets should have certain players in the running for awards this season.

The Houston Rockets head into the 2018-19 NBA season ripe with motivation following their disheartening Game 7 loss to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals last year.

James Harden and Chris Paul are still the engines that make Mike D’Antoni‘s offense run, while the trio of Eric Gordon, P.J. Tucker and Clint Capela make up part of a deep supporting cast.

Over the last couple of seasons, Houston’s players have always seemed in the thick of things when it comes time to hand out awards. Eric Gordon won Sixth Man of the Year in 2017, while James Harden took home the MVP trophy just last year.

Heading into a brand new season, the Rockets’ No. 1 goal is no doubt to compete and hopefully win an NBA championship, but that doesn’t mean they won’t also be in the running for some of the game’s individual awards as well.
