3. Dorian Finney-Smith

As an undrafted rookie from the University of Florida, Dorian Finney-Smith had to grind his way into the NBA and was able to do so in the form of a three-year deal signed back in the summer of 2016.

Since that time, he hasn’t really shown much of anything in two seasons with the Mavs, averaging just 4.6 points per game while shooting a gastly 29.5 percent from outside. His defense hasn’t proven much better, with a defensive rating of 110 and 111 in his two years in the pros.

Still only 25 years of age and on an expiring deal that will cost Dallas just over $1.5 million, it certainly wouldn’t be so terrible to keep DFS on board for at least the coming year to see if there’s something about his game worth keeping.

However, given he hasn’t shown any real capabilities on either side of the ball, maybe just a second round pick could be all that’s needed for the Mavericks to part with an investment that’s paid little dividends so far.
