3. Kris Dunn

Shortly before the 2018 NBA Draft, reports from the Chicago Sun-Times materialized that the Chicago Bulls front office was dissatisfied with Kris Dunn. According to the report, the team was looking to draft a point guard, most notably Oklahoma’s Trae Young, who eventually wound up with the Atlanta Hawks. While Young is not a Bull and Dunn remains in Chicago, the heat has been turned up on the third-year guard.

The reports were somewhat surprising, considering the improvement Dunn showed following his disappointing rookie season in Minnesota. Last season, Dunn averaged 13.8 points and 6.0 assists per game in 52 contests. Dunn also tallied 2.0 steals a night and should be in the conversation for an All-Defensive team selection in the near future.

Last season, he struggled with his efficiency from close range, shooting 53 percent at the rim. Dunn also averaged 2.9 turnovers per game, which is a cause for concern. To take his game to the next level, these are areas the former fifth overall draft pick must show improvement in.

Dunn enters this season entrenched as the starting point guard for the Chicago Bulls. This is either due to the Bulls being unable to find a suitable replacement, or it’s a show of good faith that the front office truly believes he is their point guard for the future. Either way, the lights will shine brighter on the 6’4″ Providence product this season.
