2. Set a career high in assists

In the 2016-17 season for the Atlanta Hawks, Millsap set his career high in assists with 3.7 per game, a number he figures to best in the upcoming season.

With the aforementioned offensive scheme of ball movement through the bigs, Malone will put Millsap in a position to dish it out for several open looks for the Nuggets’ sharpshooting backcourt.

Murray and Harris both averaged nearly six 3-point attempts per game last season, with the latter shooting 39.6 percent on his shots from beyond the arc. Murray, sitting at 37.8 percent, was no slouch either.

By way of the NBA Draft, the Nuggets also have the possibility of adding offensive dynamo to their lineup in Michael Porter Jr. — a transition that figures to only improve Millsap’s chances to distribute.

With that kind of efficiency outside, Millsap’s ability to draw a double-team down low when he gets hot will bode well for his playmaking chances.

A 12-year career in the NBA thus far will also help him out. Known for his knowledge and awareness on the defensive end, Millsap can translate some of that vision to the offensive end, not only improving on his down season in terms of scoring, but also allowing those around him to score.

Multiple seasons of nearly two steals per game will also help the big man as fast break assists were a common theme for Jokic last year. With either Murray or Harris streaking the court, with Harris possessing the ability to finish as well as anyone in the league, Millsap will be able to distribute from afar with the result being a transition layup.
