3. Jeremy Lamb

Jeremy Lamb had a breakout season for the Charlotte Hornets in 2017-18. It’s unclear, however, if that breakout season will end up keeping him on the Hornets long-term or increasing his trade value enough to make him a prime candidate to get dealt at the deadline.

If I had to bet, I’d bet on the latter.

Lamb averaged 12.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game last season on 45.7 percent shooting from the field and 37.0 percent shooting from 3-point range. Those are all really solid numbers, but as the Hornets grow as a franchise, does Lamb really have a spot on the team?

Charlotte should be looking for a long-term running mate for Kemba Walker (assuming it can re-sign him next summer) and Lamb might not be that guy. Both Malik Monk and Dwayne Bacon have more upside than Lamb, and the Hornets also have Miles Bridges, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Nicolas Batum on the wings.

Lamb is set to be an unrestricted free agent after this season, meaning that he should be a fairly easy player to deal. I’m sure there will be some good teams that are looking to make a long playoff run, in need of a guy who can get buckets off the bench.

Enter Jeremy Lamb.
