3. Space the floor
Anyone who watched a Milwaukee Bucks game over the last season knows how they play. Both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Eric Bledsoe like to score closer to the rim, but in order to do so, they must have some good outside shooting.
Khris Middleton, Tony Snell, Malcolm Brogdon and Matthew Dellavedova are all reasonable to excellent shooters from beyond the arc. The Bucks have also been trying to use third-year center Thon Maker as a stretch-5. However, Maker still has a lot of work to do on his game if he wants to make the regular rotation.
This is where Brook Lopez has the potential to change the Bucks’ outlook. In the past two seasons, Lopez has become a legitimate stretch-5. In 2016-17, his last year with the Nets, Lopez took 5.2 3-point field goal attempts per game and managed to connect on a respectable 34.6 percent of them.
Last season, Lopez took 4.4 shots per game from beyond the arc. He managed to connect on 34.5 percent of them, which shows consistency from deep. This is good, especially for a player who has added this weapon to his arsenal after eight seasons in the league. It is even more impressive as Lopez is a seven-footer.
