The Milwaukee Bucks hope to take a step forward in 2018-19. Which players on the roster could fuel that with a breakout season?

The Milwaukee Bucks have ridden the wave of one extended breakout season from Giannis Antetokounmpo after another, as he has taken a leap forward each of the past few seasons from intriguing young prospect to strong MVP candidate.

Yet around Antetokounmpo, the roster has failed to make corresponding leaps. Khris Middleton has grown into a strong starter, but his growth has been subtle and steady. Exciting young players such as Jabari Parker and Rashad Vaughn did not put everything together.

Adding a new head coach should help this team perform better, and Antetokounmpo himself may still have more growth in him. Veterans such as Eric Bledsoe and Tony Snell could perform better under the tutelage of Mike Budenholzer. To become a true contender in the Eastern Conference, this team will need someone — or multiple someones — to take the leap.

Looking over the roster, which players are strong candidates to have a breakout season in 2018-19? Between the aforementioned veterans and the players unlikely to even see the court this year, there are a handful of players truly poised to become something more.
