Recent NBA rumors suggest Andrew Bynum could be preparing an NBA comeback. The Los Angeles Lakers should be the team to resurrect his career.
Remember the days of Andrew Bynum in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform? Watching the young, enigmatic center roam the paint, own the boards and prove himself to be an all-around nuisance for opponents was a joy. Based on recent rumors, the potential is there for those times to return.
As it turns out, Bynum is looking to make an NBA comeback.
According to trainer Chris Johnson, Bynum has been preparing for a return to the league. As you can see, he’s been staying in shape to keep up with the pace of today’s NBA and even working on his outside shot. The basketball landscape has changed since Bynum left the game in 2014, and he’s ready to show that he can be more than just a back-to-the-basket big man.
After Johnson’s announcement, The Athletic‘s Shams Charania confirmed that Bynum is scheduling workouts with teams ahead of training camps. Although there was no clarification as to which teams may be interested, Magic Johnson and the Lakers have to at least be entertaining the idea of bringing him aboard.
Why? Well, isn’t that why you’re here?
As luck would have it, we’re about to take a look at three reasons why Bynum belongs back in the purple and gold. The Lakers need to give him another opportunity to prove his worthiness, even if that means simply offering him a training camp invite.
