2. Average at least five assists

Horford is one of the best passing centers in the NBA. Having a big man that can make plays is scary for defenders. Teams are on their toes wondering whether he will be passing out of the post or hitting them with his shooter’s touch.

Last season he averaged 4.7 assists per game, his second-highest career average for assists. His career high of 5.0 assists per game came the year before that in 2016-17. Horford ranked third in the NBA for his position for most assists.

The only other two players that beat him out were Cousins and Nikola Jokic – two centers who are gifted passers. In the playoffs he came in second with 3.3 assists per game, only trailing Kelly Olynyk. The Celtics have a lot of talent on their team and they should be even scarier if everyone comes back healthy.

If Horford was able average 4.7 assists with all the injuries surrounding the team, he should be able to get at least five per game this season. In the starting lineup alone, he has options like Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hayward to feed the ball to.

This will keep defenses on their toes and it will also get others involved. Basketball is a team sport and getting everyone involved will help the Celtics win more games.
