The Charlotte Hornets could use some breakout performances this season to rise in the Eastern Conference. Here are three players that could likely help.

In the seven years that Kemba Walker has played for the Charlotte Hornets, he has seen his team win as few as seven games (2011-12) but win as many as 48 (2015-16). They have made the playoffs just twice in that span.

Things are starting to turn around though offensively. In two of the last three seasons, the team has been a top-12 team in points per game after spending the first four years of Walker’s career as a bottom-10 team in that category.

Now the Hornets have a new general manager and a new coach. With a couple of safe but solid draft picks in their pockets and some new faces in the locker room, the Hornets seem to be committed to working their way back into the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Kemba needs a supporting cast though. If a few players can have a career-altering, breakout season in 2018-19, the Hornets could make their way back to the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Here are three guys to keep an eye on this season.
