Brooklyn Nets: 3 players most likely to be traded in 2018-19
By Alec Liebsch
3. Jared Dudley
Nothing about Jared Dudley’s game screams “productive player,” but he makes an underrated impact. As a stretch-big who hustles and improves the locker room atmosphere, he certainly has value to whatever team owns him.
That’s exactly what makes him valuable to a championship contender. His $9.5 million salary is not exactly cheap, but it can act as filler for a trade that involves incurring another player’s contract. Akin to the Darell Arthur trade, the Nets can take on a slightly larger number and obtain an asset for their trouble.
In the least favorable circumstance, Dudley nets either a protected second-rounder or the rights to swap seconds with another team. Heck, maybe even an underwhelming young player with a smidgen of upside to tap into. A move like that doesn’t exactly break ankles, but any marginal improvement to the asset cupboard helps, should the Nets pursue such a deal.
After all, this team has been about the little things for a while now, haven’t they? Any extra chances to improve the bottom line are beneficial.
