2. Thabo Sefolosha

Thabo Sefolosha had six successful seasons as a starter with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Since his departure from OKC, he’s been unable to attain that same level of success. After three years coming off the bench with the Atlanta Hawks, he signed with the Jazz last summer looking for a fresh start.

Unfortunately, the 2017-18 season ended in disappointment. Sefolosha was producing as a sixth man for Utah, averaging 8.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. His season ended prematurely with a torn MCL in January, and he was suspended for five games in April for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.

His brief time in Salt Lake City could come to an end this year. The Jazz have plenty of options at the wing position, and the improved play of Royce O’Neale late last season secured him a spot in the rotation for the upcoming season. Sefolosha has lost his spot, and is currently listed as the third small forward on the depth chart.

Even at 34 years old, he will be attractive to other teams. He brings a strong veteran presence to the locker room, and is a strong defender. Over the his 13-year career, he’s never had a negative season in defensive win shares, and he possesses a strong basketball IQ. Those qualities, along with his expiring contract and improved play of O’Neale, make Sefolosha a prime trade target.
