After a busy offseason, the San Antonio Spurs are looking ahead to the upcoming season. Here are three big questions they will have to answer.

A lot changed for the San Antonio Spurs this offseason, but at the same time, a lot of things stayed the same. Kawhi Leonard is gone, and with him the surrounding uncertainty and drama that plagued the Spurs all of last season and most of this summer as well. His departure up north results in a net loss of talent for the team, but peace of mind and chemistry may be the more important commodities in this case.

The Spurs lost a valuable defender in Danny Green and, of course, an almost certain future Hall-of-Famer in Manu Ginobili. They gained an All-Star shooting guard in DeMar DeRozan and a young, serviceable big man in Jakob Poeltl. The roster has changed, as rosters do, but Gregg Popovich is still at the helm and as long as that is the case, you can count on consistency for this team.

Looking ahead to the upcoming season there are some important questions to ask. The answers — which we won’t know just yet — will have a big impact on the success of the season for San Antonio.

Will they make the playoffs? Will they make the Western Conference Finals? It all depends. Let’s take a look at three big questions for the Spurs heading into the 2018-19 NBA season.
