Phoenix Suns: Getting a starting PG from the Los Angeles Clippers
By Luke Swiatek
The case for Milos Teodosic
There is one thing that Teodosic is better at than almost every other player in the league: passing. Watch his highlight tapes, even the ones from overseas, and you’ll see an exciting player who always knows when and where to put the ball for his teammates.
That’s something the Phoenix Suns are sorely lacking. Booker has taken strides as a ball-handler and initiator of the offense, but he’s not the best playmaker in the world. The Suns don’t have anyone on their roster who would really even be described as above-average at passing.
Adding Teodosic would change that overnight. He can make life easier for every other Suns player on offense, and he can shoot well off the ball too. When necessary, he can even score for himself, meaning he’s a more well-rounded than a player.
However, he’s also a terrible defender. Considering Booker isn’t great in that aspect either, his fit is questionable.
Teodosic is also 31 years old, and on an expiring contract. He’s clearly not a long-term answer at the position, and giving up major assets in return for a vet who’d only help a little in the short-term seems unwise.
Teodosic would be invaluable to the offense, but he wouldn’t be great for the defense. He might not be the best option, but he certainly would be an exciting one.
