The Oklahoma City Thunder have a very talented roster going into the 2018-19 NBA season, and several players should be in the running for awards.

The Oklahoma City Thunder haven’t been this good since they boasted the trio of Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and James Harden. With the 2018-19 NBA season just around the corner, it’s a good time to take stock of the new roster and identify which players have a chance at claiming some of the coveted NBA awards.

The Thunder will enter the season with quite a few familiar faces. Westbrook, Steven Adams, Paul George and Andre Roberson will return, keeping a large chunk of last year’s starting five intact. The missing piece is obviously Carmelo Anthony, who will most likely be replaced by Jerami Grant. This change alone marks a big improvement in the lineup, as the team won’t be hurt by Anthony’s inefficiency and propensity to hold the ball for too long.

There will also be some new faces on the roster this year, most notably Dennis Schroder. The new-look Thunder will have several players who will most likely find themselves in the running for NBA awards. This bodes well for the team’s success and should be a source of excitement for the fans.

Without further ado, let’s take stock of the best candidates from the Oklahoma City Thunder for each NBA award in 2018-19.
