Defensive Player of the Year: Anthony Davis

Coming in third in the voting for the 2018 Defensive Player of the Year and being a member of the All-Defensive First team, Anthony Davis is a logical choice for the DPOY on his own team and is a likely candidate to claim the award this season.

Since entering the league in 2012, AD has proven to be quite the defensive weapon, equally adept at guarding his position as well as smaller forwards and guards.

This is to say nothing of his abilities as a shot-blocker. Having led the league in swats per game last season with 2.6 a night, Davis uses his absurdly long arms and bounce to affect any and all shots in his air space.

Now playing center full-time as New Orleans’ last line of defense, The Brow will have even more opportunities to show what he can do on the defensive end.

He came very close to winning the award last season. A full year proving he’s the league’s most versatile threat on the defensive end could be all it takes to bring home the trophy this year.
