Miami Heat: Best candidates for 2018-19 NBA awards

The Miami Heat’s roster is a collection of above average role players, putting them right in the middle when it comes to NBA power rankings.

Pat Riley has done an interesting job assembling this Miami Heat roster over the last few seasons.

No one player is particularly great, but there’s depth at every position, making them one of the more interesting teams in the league and an interesting discussion when it comes to the NBA awards.

Throughout the Heat’s history, they’ve had a two-time MVP, Most Improved Players and a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, and while their current roster doesn’t get the name recognition most award winners do, they’re still a talented group of guys.

Interestingly enough, because there is no superstar to take all the shine, some of Miami’s players may actually have an outside shot at bringing home a trophy if the circumstances play out in their favor.
