1. Win MVP award

After accomplishing the feat of averaging a triple-double in 2016-17, Russell was given the MVP award with 69 first place votes, nearly 50 more than second place finisher James Harden. Westbrook led the Thunder to a 47-35 record that season, good for the sixth seed in the playoffs.

If Jokic is able to post double-digit averages in three or more categories for the Nuggets next season, as well as lead the team back to the playoffs, he will have a solid case.

Having gone 46-36 last season, the Nuggets were only one game off of the pace that got Westbrook the MVP in 2016.

In the hotly-contested Western Conference that just welcomed LeBron James into the fold, the Nuggets figure to improve past that single-game difference with a full season from Paul Millsap, as well as steps forward by their Big 3 in Jokic, Harris and Murray.

A triple-double and an NBA Playoff resurgence will not only give Jokic a name in the record books, but possibly a new trophy for the mantle.
