1. Make a blockbuster trade

Whether it is before the season starts or during the season, making a blockbuster trade is something the front office of the Cleveland Cavaliers should be looking to accomplish.

So are there any specific targets for this blockbuster trade? Yes, two in fact. One is Hassan Whiteside and the other is CJ McCollum.

Miami is in a pretty weird place right now. They are not a lottery team and they are definitely not competing. As a result, they could be looking to move their star, Whiteside and build around Bam Adebayo.

By offering Tristan Thompson, Kyle Korver and even a first-round draft pick, Whiteside to Cleveland could be a done deal.

Moving on to the western conference, something seems to be missing for the Portland Trail Blazers. They seem to have a pretty good team with a great superstar and one of the best head coaches in the NBA.

Unfortunately, something seems to be missing from the championship jigsaw. As a result, it might be time to blow up the team and the Cavaliers could benefit from that by bringing CJ back to his homeland.
