As one of the newest members of the Phoenix Suns, Ryan Anderson has a lot to prove if he wants to show that he deserves a starting spot.

As the highest-salaried player in the Brandon Knight trade, Ryan Anderson should also be the best player in the deal. That’s probably true right at this moment in time, but Anderson will need to work to make sure it stays that way.

At this point in his career, Anderson isn’t likely to get significantly better at anything, but that’s fine; the Phoenix Suns got him for his salary and what he is now, they’re not projecting him forward. From the Suns’ perspective, most of Anderson’s goals are more related to the ways he can help the team than they are related to any individual benchmarks Anderson can achieve.

ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that Ryan Anderson will start for the Suns this year, and even though he’s obviously not the one setting the lineups, he still never reports something as fact if he’s unsure about it. Expect Anderson to start.

To keep that starting spot and help the team out the most, there are three goals Anderson needs to set for himself.
