Milwaukee Bucks: 3 goals for Eric Bledsoe in 2018-19
The Milwaukee Bucks traded for Eric Bledsoe believing he could be an impact player. What goals should he have to get back on track in 2018-19?
The Milwaukee Bucks went after Eric Bledsoe when it became clear the Phoenix Suns were shopping him last fall, and their offer beat out the competition. Giving up reliable sixth man center Greg Monroe and a pair of future picks, the Bucks brought in Bledsoe to upgrade their talent level and make them a more dangerous team.
It must be noted that Bledsoe often did just that, raising this team’s overall level of play. At times he simply took over games, overwhelming opponents with his combination of speed and strength to score at the rim and harry opposing ball-handlers.
Yet at other times, Bledsoe got lost on defense, did not fight over picks, and offensively resorted to jumpers that ran hot and cold. In the postseason he was soundly outplayed by Terry Rozier, a third-year backup point guard.
This season will start after a full offseason for Bledsoe, one where he’ll be taking the court fully healthy from the jump. A new head coach, Mike Budenholzer, should be a positive agent for the entire roster. There is reason to expect Bledsoe can improve.
What should Eric Bledsoe focus on as the 2018-19 NBA season approaches? Here are three goals for the Bucks point guard to aim for this year.
