3. Make the 15-man roster

For a guy in Davon Reed’s shoes, this is a good place to start. The wing position is pretty saturated on the Phoenix Suns, so he’ll have a lot of competition.

Devin Booker and Mikal Bridges look to be key members of the team. De’Anthony Melton and Elie Okobo seem unlikely to be moved, as Melton was recently traded for and Okobo was just selected in the draft.

Behind those four stand Isaiah Canaan, Troy Daniels and Shaquille Harrison. At least two of the three should make the roster, and Daniels is a significantly better shooter than Reed.

Despite being 6’6″, Reed isn’t likely to see much time at the 3 either. Trevor Ariza, Josh Jackson and T.J. Warren should take up all the minutes there, and if they don’t, it’ll likely be Booker or Bridges picking up the leftovers.

Davon Reed has been in the G League before, and if he heads back there now, he’s essentially accomplished nothing. If he wants to become the best version of himself that he possibly can, it starts with making it out of training camp. Then, he can show the league what he can do.
