Memphis Grizzlies: Best candidates for 2018-19 NBA awards
Sixth Man of the Year: MarShon Brooks
In those seven games last season, MarShan Brooks showed a clear ability to put the ball in the basket, and at 50 percent from the field, do so efficiently.
Memphis could decide to give Brooks a shot in the starting lineup, but with Mike Conley already playing the role of lead ballhandler, MarShon would be better served coming off the pine as the team’s sixth man.
Should he be the first guy off the bench, Brooks would have full reins of the second unit, allowing him to control the offense with the ball in his hands and make plays, something he proved capable of last season.
The Sixth Man of the Year award has always been about stats, and depending on how many minutes he plays, Brooks will no doubt have the opportunity to put up numbers that could have him in the running for this award.
