3. Shoot at least 40 percent from 3 again

Tatum surprised a lot of folks with how well he was able to shoot the ball from 3-point range. He had the ability to do so eventually, but no one figured he’d be torching defenses with a 43.4 percent conversion rate on 3.0 attempts per game.

Will he be able to repeat that next year? Probably not.

In college he shot 34.2 percent from 3 on 4.0 attempts per game. The fact that he improved his 3-point percentage by nearly 10 percent is incredible, especially since the 3-point line is further back in the NBA than it is in college.

This makes it more unlikely that he will be able to sustain those numbers going off of his past success. However, if Tatum can continue to shoot 3s at such an efficient clip this season and develop his offensive game, he will become truly scary on that end. The more he can keep people on their toes when he’s beyond the 3-point line, the more he will be able to drive past defenders and space the floor.

The 3-pointer just makes things easier on everyone and if he can continue to develop that shot, then he will be in for a big sophomore season.
