Jayson Tatum is set to start his second NBA season with the Boston Celtics. Here’s a look at three goals for the young budding star in 2018-19.

To say Jayson Tatum had a good rookie year for the Boston Celtics would be an understatement. It’s not often a player entering the league has a debut season like he did. At times he looked like he had been in the NBA for years.

Tatum ultimately didn’t win Rookie of the Year, despite being deserving of it; Ben Simmons and Donovan Mitchell had better seasons. There really isn’t a way you can knock any of the three for what they did at such an early stage of their respective careers.

In any case, there’s a lot of talk and anticipation for Tatum’s second year with the team. From the mentoring of Kobe Bryant to the possibility of an NBA Finals appearance this year, Tatum has brought a lot hope to Boston fans.

As a rookie, he averaged 13.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks per game. He was also successful shooting the ball, hitting an impressive 43.4 percent from 3 on 3.0 attempts per game. The talent is clearly there, even if his stat line isn’t eye-popping. For a rookie, those numbers suggest good things are on the horizon for the small forward.

Bearing all this in mind, it’s time to go over three goals for the former Blue Devil this upcoming season. If he can do these three things, he and the team should have a good season on their hands.
