San Antonio Spurs: Top 10 moments of Manu Ginobili’s career

4. Ginobili wins the Sixth Man of the Year award
One part of building a successful dynasty is getting players to understand their roles. After winning their third NBA title, the Spurs weren’t getting any younger and one player who understood that was Manu Ginobili.
During the 2007-08 season, he took it upon himself to come off the bench after winning the 2007 NBA championship. He excelled in his role off the bench as well — so much so, he took home the 2007-08 Sixth Man of the Year award.
Ginobili averaged 19.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 74 appearances (23 starts). He shot 40.1 percent from behind the arc and 46 percent from the field as the San Antonio Spurs finished with a 56-26 record, third in the Western Conference.
Ginobili became the first player in franchise history to win the Sixth Man of the Year award. Despite coming off the bench, he still managed to put up over 40 points twice and 30 points in nine contests. The Spurs went 9-2 in games where he produced 30 points or more during that season. Ginobili always found a way to be on the winning side of the draw, especially when it comes to winning his last NBA championship.
