1. Growing pains

Growing pains are something that every star-studded team has to go through. For the Warriors, this is nothing new. This team has been through more growing pains than any other dynasty in NBA history.

For starters, Golden State went through the usual growing pains when they built their first championship squad in 2015. Then, they went through this process all over again after adding Kevin Durant in the 2016 offseason. Now, the Dubs will once again learn to adjust to another superstar with the acquisition of DeMarcus Cousins.

Currently, the Warriors roster consists of five All-Stars, two MVPs and one Defensive Player of the Year. This is something that no other team in the history of the league has done. It is uncertain how a team of this much talent will play together cohesively.

While Golden State certainly has the experience necessary to make this work, team chemistry is a very fragile thing. Throwing in a player with a negative history such as Cousins could disrupt everything. Not to mention the fact that all five of these stars will be forced to sacrifice a piece of themselves in order to keep everyone satisfied.

The Warriors’ season will be dependent upon how they react to their new lineup. Many super-teams have failed in the past due to growing pains. Can the 2017-18 Warriors overcome this obstacle and win a third straight NBA championship? Only time will tell.
