2. Kelly Oubre Jr.

Kelly Oubre Jr. is primed for a breakout season, that shouldn’t be a secret for anybody in the Wizards organization. Given that potential, it would be in their best interest to trade Oubre as soon as he reaches his peak. Trading Oubre would be a good business move for the Washington Wizards.

Whether it’s for draft picks or another up-and-coming rookie with years left on his deal, the Wizards should seek the best deal possible for Oubre while they can. The reason is it will be very difficult for Washington to afford Oubre on the free agent market given their recent payroll acquisitions.

Otto Porter Jr. got max money in the 2017 offseason when Washington decided to match his four-year deal pitched by the Brooklyn Nets. Then in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Wizards selected versatile guard Troy Brown Jr. with the 15th pick. Brown showed flashes of his potential on both ends in NBA Summer League and ultimately signed a rookie deal with the organization.

Then there’s also Devin Robinson, who’s on the second year of his two-way contract. Robinson was another star on the Summer League circuit for the Wizards. With a 6’8″, 200-pound frame, he showed potential as another versatile option and could emerge as a cheaper long-term option for Washington.
