Following one of their worst seasons this decade, the Memphis Grizzlies are no guarantee to simply bounce back into the postseason for 2018-19.

The Memphis Grizzlies are coming off the type of season they really haven’t been all too familiar with in the Grit-N-Grind era.

Star point guard Mike Conley appeared in only 12 games over the season’s first three months and was then ruled out for the season following heel surgery, leading to just 22 wins for Memphis and the fourth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

With that selection, the Grizzlies picked up Jaren Jackson Jr., and combined with Conley’s health, it should help Memphis compete for a playoff spot.

However, given the state of the Western Conference, the Grizzlies are already a few steps behind, lacking in the talent department and only recently beginning to embrace a more 3-point centric style of play.

Memphis certainly won’t be as bad in 2019 as it was last season, but that doesn’t free the team from a bevy of questions worth asking — and preferably answering — if the Grizz are to make noise in a conference that somehow continues to improve.
