2. Find a point guard

Going off the previous question, the Phoenix Suns need to find a good point guard. Whether that be through a trade or through getting a high draft pick, it should be a priority for this team.

It’s also not impossible that the team’s future starting point guard is on the roster. Knight has been a starter elsewhere, and Okobo has a lot of potential. Maybe one of them could be the answer.

Shaquille Harrison and Isaiah Canaan are almost certainly not the answers. Harrison played well in Summer League and Canaan played well for the injury-decimated Suns last year, but neither projects as a starter.

Canaan is at best the fourth guard off the bench and is just a veteran placeholder. Harrison is fine, he just doesn’t seem to have very high potential and will likely also top out as a backup.

Of course, there is one other answer: fully committing to the Booker-Harden parallel and making Booker the point guard. He should be the main ballhandler anyway, so Kokoskov might as well make him the official point guard, right?

Moving Booker to the point would allow Mikal Bridges to start alongside him. A wing trifecta of Bridges, Jackson, and Ariza could be something quite special on defense, and probably would be decent on offense too.

This idea is not without flaws, though. It helps the wing logjam, but it leaves the Suns with four backup point guards, so a trade will still need to be made either way. Still, since the team won’t be making the playoffs, Kokoskov shouldn’t be afraid to experiment a bit.
