The Phoenix Suns might not make the playoffs in a loaded Western Conference, but there are important goals for them to achieve.

Teams at the top of their respective conferences can afford to have a “championship or bust” mentality heading into a season. For the Phoenix Suns, that’s not the case.

The Suns aren’t going to be winning a title in the next year or two, so they have to set different goals for themselves. They might not be exciting as winning a title, but achieving their goals now could set them up in a better position to eventually hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

These goals aren’t just “consolation prizes” though. These are real, meaningful targets that the Suns can shoot for, and if they achieve all of them, that’ll make this season a success.
