30. Dewayne Dedmon, Atlanta Hawks

Dewayne Dedmon is a good player, but he’s probably not someone you want starting at center for your team in 2018-19. For the rebuilding Atlanta Hawks, that’s less important. Dedmon will defend and be a veteran presence for the young guys, all without being good enough to prevent the Hawks from their date with the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery.

Last year, Dedmon averaged a career-high 10.0 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. He started in 46 games, the most of his career, and Atlanta’s defense was slightly better with him on the floor.

However, he wouldn’t be a starter on any team within earshot of the playoffs, he’s not much of a shot-blocker (0.8 per game last year) and his field goal percentage dipped to 52.4 percent. Dedmon will be good enough for Atlanta this year, but being “good enough” for possibly the worst team in the NBA is pretty succinct way to justify his 30th overall ranking.
