2. Shoot 38 percent or better from 3-point range

Although Ennis exhibited flashes of being a viable 3-point shooter during his second stint with Memphis, there were moments where the 6’7″, 210-pound product failed to do so consistently a season ago.

The 28-year-old — who shot 35.7 percent from downtown with the Grizzlies — struggled to take advantage of his looks from deep following a midseason trade to the Pistons, shooting a career-low 30 percent from 3-point range through 27 games in Detroit.

While one could seek to blame Ennis’ drop-off on Detroit’s inability to space the floor, the five-year veteran must find a way to reverse the following trend with the Rockets this coming season.

Opposing teams will continue to place the majority of their defensive focus onto both Paul and Harden, and as a result, it will provide players such as Ennis with an array of catch-and-shoot opportunities from beyond the arc.

If Ennis is able to successfully shoot at a 38 percent clip or better from long range, then he could put himself in position to have the best offensive season of his career, giving Houston a significant chance to reach its second straight Western Conference Finals in 2019.
