1. Adjusting to other stars

Presumably, the Boston Celtics will have a 2018-19 starting lineup of Irving, Brown, Jayson Tatum. Hayward and Al Horford. Even if this doesn’t hold true, it is still likely that this group will spend a ton of time together on the court. How will Brown adjust to this?

For the majority of last season, Aron Baynes started for the Celtics. He did not absorb many of Brown’s touches, but Hayward probably will. No one knows for sure how Brown will adjust to this, but time after time he has repeated his desire to simply work on his game and produce wins.

Still, this does not stop people like Charles Barkley from suggesting that the Boston Celtics may have some chemistry issues on the court. In the clip below, Barkley discusses the rise of both Tatum and Brown, and how the Celtics may have to work out some issues.

It is only late summer, so we shouldn’t read to much into quotes, but Brown had an interesting one for Complex magazine. If you need to be convinced that he will be mentally strong enough to handle whatever his new role will be, then read his quote below:

"“I’m not sure what the perception of Jaylen Brown is… but to be honest, I could care less,” he says. “The only thing I care about is how [I perceive] myself.”"

Jaylen Brown’s final goal for next season is to maintain this approach to his game. He has said the correct things so far, but it is a whole different ball game once the season begins. He needs to remain focused on developing his game and helping this upgraded roster win a title.
