24. John Collins, Atlanta Hawks

John Collins was one of the lone bright spots for the Atlanta Hawks last year, and that should continue to be the case now that he’s got a full season of experience under his belt. As one of the game’s up-and-coming high-risers, Collins was a sound player in addition to being an electrifying dunker.

As a rookie who eventually won the starting job at power forward, the 19th overall pick averaged a promising 10.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in just 24.6 minutes per game. He also shot 57.6 percent from the floor, quickly establishing himself as a nice young piece of Atlanta’s emerging core.

Trae Young is the name that will attract everyone’s attention, and Taurean Waller-Prince might be the Hawks’ best player in 2018-19, but don’t sleep on John Collins taking another sizable step forward after a pleasantly surprising rookie year and dominant second NBA Summer League.
