7. LaMarcus Aldridge, San Antonio Spurs

It’s ironic that in a year that began with LaMarcus Aldridge wanting to be traded, Kawhi Leonard wound up being the disgruntled one on the way out, while LMA enjoyed the best season of his tenure with the San Antonio Spurs so far.

In a throwback to his younger Portland days, Aldridge posted 23.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. He shot 51 percent from the floor, earned a Second Team All-NBA nod and led a severely shorthanded San Antonio team to 47 wins in a loaded Western Conference.

Leonard leaving should’ve given Aldridge more responsibility, but the arrival of a healthy DeMar DeRozan could negatively impact his numbers and the team’s overall spacing on offense, since both stars are mid-range masters. Throw in another year of aging for the 33-year-old and we may have already seen the best of LaMarcus Aldridge in a Spurs uniform.
