10. Aaron Gordon, Orlando Magic

The $80 million extension has been signed, the building blocks for the future are in place…now it’s time for Aaron Gordon to make the leap from “pretty good young player” to “franchise cornerstone.”

It’s unlikely Gordon will prove himself as a legitimate NBA superstar in his upcoming fifth season, or possibly ever. However, after averaging a career-high 17.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks per game last year, it’s evident this Arizona product has plenty of two-way potential.

Now it’ll be a matter of providing the Orlando Magic with something they haven’t had since Dwight Howard: an unquestioned leader and star. A good place to start would be proving the mirage of his red-hot 3-point shooting to start last season can be replicated — on a lower scale, of course, but at least something better than the 33.6 percent he shot from deep overall in 2017-18.
