12. Serge Ibaka, Toronto Raptors

Serge Ibaka‘s been on the decline for the last few years, and that trend continued in 2017-18, with his numbers falling to 12.6 points 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. Remember the terrifying rim protector and league leader in swats who went by the name of “Iblocka”? That guy doesn’t really exist anymore.

In his place, however, is a more than effective role player on one of the top contenders in the East. He’s a regular pick-and-pop threat, particularly from 3-point range where he made 36 percent of his 3.9 attempts per game — a “down” year for the reformed stretch-4.

Ibaka is still the Toronto Raptors‘ best option at the 5 when they go small, which will become prevalent in the playoffs if Jonas Valanciunas gets run off the court. For the time being though, he’ll continue to be a very useful, under-the-radar power forward who gets judged unfairly as the guy Oklahoma City chose over the reigning MVP, James Harden.
