Rookie of the Year: Collin Sexton

Yeah, this one did not require that much thought. The Cleveland Cavaliers currently have just one rookie on the team — unless Billy Preston magically receives playing time — meaning that Collin Sexton is the one and only candidate for this award.

But other than being the only possible option, Sexton does have a legitimate chance at winning the Rookie of the Year award, battling out fellow rookies like Deandre Ayton and Trae Young in the process.

Every year before the season starts, every rookie takes part in a survey with questions regarding their transition to the NBA, as well as their preferences. In this year’s survey, the other rookies have Collin Sexton as the ultimate favorite for the award, tied for the No.1 spot with the first overall pick, Ayton.

Under the influence of NBA veteran George Hill, as well as former NBA point guard Tyronn Lue, Collin Sexton can improve his game and reach “NBA standards” faster than the other players he is trying to beat for this award.
