Cleveland Cavaliers: Best candidates for 2018-19 NBA awards
As they get ready for the 2018-19 NBA season to begin, here are five Cleveland Cavaliers that could compete for an NBA award.
Over the course of the last three months, the Cleveland Cavaliers got swept in the 2018 NBA Finals and lost their superstar, LeBron James. You’d think that this series of events would negatively affect the entire organization. Luckily, you are mistaken.
The team drafted Collin Sexton, who surprised quite a few during his NBA Summer League games, helping Cleveland fans feel confident about the point guard spot once again. The next big move that the Cavaliers made was locking up their current superstar, Kevin Love, for the next five seasons after offering him a four-year extension.
Other than that, the Cavs made some pretty standard moves. They signed David Nwaba, traded with the Los Angeles Clippers to acquire Sam Dekker and last but not least, brought back fan favorite Channing Frye to the squad.
Even though the team will likely not be a contender this season, it seems Cleveland could compete for every NBA award. Here are the players that could be in the running for an end-of-season award in 2018-19.
