The Boston Celtics have a lot of talented players on the team. Which ones are facing the most pressure for the 2018-19 season?

There are a lot of people that could be considered under pressure for the Boston Celtics during the 2018-19 season. They have a lot of expectations and that can lead to finger pointing at who needs to perform.

Now that LeBron James is out of the Eastern Conference, many people believe that it will be a three-way race between the Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors. As of now, the frontrunner looks to be Boston.

That all depends on how the Celtics rebound from all the injuries that occurred over the 2017-18 season. The other factor is the young players needing to take the next step in their careers to put them over the hump. If these things do happen, the best-case scenario is they can compete for the NBA Finals.

Newly drafted Robert Williams will face some pressure, but not enough to make the list. He was drafted late in the first round, which makes him just out of reach. Mix that in with some injury history and off-court issues and he isn’t faced with the expectations we’ve seen from other rookies in the past, though he does have the talent and ability to make this roster that much more dangerous.

The two young players in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are also names who were considered. They didn’t make the list because of their youth and being in the process of developing. They do have the talent to be one of the best in the league one day.

There are three players on the roster who face a lot of pressure heading into 2018-19. The main reason these players will make the cut is due to contract situations, the future and their talent to make Boston a team to beat in the East.
