2. Will Dwight Howard work at the center position?

All eyes will be on the Washington Wizards and Dwight Howard all season long. Despite his talent, Howard has always given off the vibe that he doesn’t take the game seriously.

After signing a three-year deal in the 2016 offseason with the Atlanta Hawks, he was traded away along with a second round draft pick for Marco Belinelli, Miles Plumlee and a second round pick to the Hornets. The Hornets traded him after the 2017-18 season to the Brooklyn Nets for Timofey Mozgov.

Howard will have to prove himself at the center position with the Wizards in 2018-19. His role shouldn’t be too much pressure for him as a paint protector on defense and a rim-runner on offense. One thing the Wizards lacked in 2017-18 was aggression.

Howard should bring all the aggression and then some for them this upcoming season, so long as the locker room remains intact. If anything, he’ll be a short-term fix, if he does work out. He averaged 16.6 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game last with the Hornets. Those numbers alone are better than what Marcin Gortat brought in 2017-18.
