3. Provide depth for the Thunder

The Thunder were one of the worst teams in terms of bench scoring last year, ranking 29th in the league with 26.4 points per game from the second unit.

The leading scorer off the bench was Jerami Grant, who poured in 8.4 points per game. Grant is not a high-volume scorer, and the Thunder needed a sixth man badly.

Schroder will be able to fill that void for them. He was a starter for the last two years in Atlanta but will be able to come in and give the Thunder quality minutes as a backup floor general.

The team that he played for in Atlanta was not a good one. They were 24-58 and finished last in the Eastern Conference. On a better OKC Thunder team, he will be asked to come off the bench to make way for MVP Russell Westbrook, who will be in his usual starting point guard spot.

After having a career year in Atlanta, Schroder will now play on a Thunder bench that is in desperate need of a spark. With how fast Schroder plays, OKC will have Westbrook 2.0 coming off its bench.
