Sitting in the aftermath of another depressing summer, the Cleveland Cavaliers must find a way to soldier on and attempt to compete at a high level in 2018-19.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have had an eventful summer, to say the least.

For the second time, Cleveland’s native son LeBron James took his talents elsewhere in free agency, leaving the Cavs to pick up the pieces of one of the more interesting relationships in league history.

Prior to James’ departure, the Cavs selected guard Collin Sexton with the eighth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft in the hopes his dynamic style of play could help the team independent of what LeBron would eventually choose to do.

As July drew to a close, Cleveland was able to save face just a little bit, extending Kevin Love on a four-year deal worth $120 million, almost reassuring The King’s departure this time around will go a lot better than his last.

While the Cavaliers are no doubt upset at a future without the best player in the world, the 2018-19 season will still occur, and with that comes 82 games to prove their worth independent of LeBron’s greatness.

The cupboard isn’t barren in Cleveland, but it’s not exactly stocked with the best options. They’ll have to find a way to make things work, bringing along a bevy of questions as to how such a process will unfold.
