1. Be in the running for Sixth Man of the Year

If Curry can play consistent minutes, shoot the ball well and score in bunches coming off the bench, he could be one of the players in the running for the Sixth Man of the Year award at the end of the year. He is going to be asked to do a lot for this team this year and will have plenty of chances to showcase what he can do.

Winning the Sixth Man of the Year award or even just being in the running for it would be a huge step up in Curry’s career and he could establish himself as one of the top bench guards in the league. He will be a free agent after this year with Portland and needs to do all he can to impress teams so he can lock down a long-term contract, either with the Blazers or some other franchise.

Portland has a high-powered offense and adding him to its roster will help the team not miss a beat when Lillard or McCollum is off the floor. Curry will be the primary scorer and ball-handler in the second unit. He should have the green light to score or shoot whenever he has an opportunity.

Curry should become the Blazers’ main bench player and could be a Lou Williams or Eric Gordon type for them. Both players are some of the top sixth men in the NBA and Curry has a chance to do the same thing in Portland. He should beat out Evan Turner and be the first guy off the bench. Curry could be the weapon that helps this team take the next step and be a tough out in the playoffs.
