The Cleveland Cavaliers figure to be included in trade rumors throughout the 2018-19 campaign, with these players likely at the center of the conversation.

A new era is officially under way for the Cleveland Cavaliers. With LeBron James gone and Kevin Love serving as the new face of the franchise, it’s unclear what the future may hold for this club. One thing is certain, though: There will be plenty of Cavaliers trade rumors this season.

Why? Well when a team with so many sour contracts is trying to rebuild, it’s only natural for them to seek opportunities to shed said contracts. The other part of the equation is that, during a rebuild, it’s best to have as many future assets as possible. Unfortunately, based on where they finish in 2018-19, the Cavaliers will be sending their first round pick to the Atlanta Hawks either this year or next.

Hence, they may need to acquire someone else’s 2019 first round pick to keep the young pieces flowing into Ohio. The only way to do that is to trade the chips they currently have at their disposal.

Put simply, it’s going to be a busy year for the Cavaliers. Jockeying for positioning in the Eastern Conference will still be a concern. Finding a way to ensure a brighter future, though, will be the focus with not enough talent currently on the roster to actually contend.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the Cavaliers players most likely to be traded away in the coming months. The 2019 NBA trade deadline is set for Feb. 7, so expect to see these names mentioned in trade rumors often between now and then.
