Boston Celtics: Complete 2018 offseason grades
By Kane Pitman
With the bulk of the 2018 NBA offseason behind us, the focus now turns to preparation for preseason hoops. The Boston Celtics decided to reload, bringing the band back in pursuit of Eastern Conference supremacy.
The Boston Celtics faced an offseason of potentially landscape-altering decisions. Seemingly in excellent position to acquire one of the big fish in LeBron James or Kawhi Leonard, they resisted temptation in exchange for bringing all their key pieces back.
A late first round draft pick and another minor addition to the roster capped the major moves for Danny Ainge and co. this summer. Above all else, the Celtics will be hoping for some injury luck in 2018-19, backing their roster to go one better this season and reach the NBA Finals.
In the end, it wasn’t totally surprising that the Celts resisted the urge to land a superstar free agent, with Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward set to return to the squad that was just one victory away from getting the opportunity to challenge for the NBA title.
Kicking off the moves for Boston this offseason was the selection of what could turn out to be a major steal in the draft.
