After a decent 2017-18 season, the Atlanta Hawks hope that forward Taurean Waller-Prince continues to develop into a solid 3-and-D player this year.

Coming out Baylor, NBADraft.net compared Atlanta Hawks forward Taurean Waller-Prince to another former Hawk: DeMarre Carroll. It’s not hard to see why, and not just because they both have dreadlocks.

At 6’8″ with a 6’11” wingspan, Prince has the ability to defend at least four positions at any given time. He can also stretch the floor with the 3-ball and he can put the ball on the floor and create his own shot if the team really needs him too.

During a season where the Hawks tanked for a top lottery pick, Prince received a significant amount of playing time and he made the most of it, averaging 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game with a .426/.385/.844 shooting line.

In today’s NBA, players like Prince are a valued commodity, especially at the price the Hawks are currently paying him, but for the team to continue to progress, so too must Prince. Specifically, these three things will help him move forward as a basketball player in 2018-19.
